Our vision moving forward is fairly simple. Handcrafted is now a place for verified makers, dealers, and shops to buy and sell products between each other, away from the eyes of the general public.

I've spent the past couple of months down in the code mines building some new features for Handcrafted, and I'm happy to come up for air to share with you all that they are now live!

Hello all! Matthew here to give an overview of the updates we've made to the site so far this year. It's a primary focus of mine to make sure that Handcrafted is the best that it can possibly be, and that means constantly working to make the site more usable and useful. This is a never-ending process, but that's also part of the fun! There's always something that can be done to improve the experience for all of you. To that end, here's an overview of the updates that I've made to the site so far this year.

It was suggested that I should better explain my cryptically nerdy violin posts. So here is a very detailed series of photos comparing a bridge blank to a fully cut bridge (minus thinning out ankles, but hey-who’s perfect!) Nerdy luthier explanations in the caption for each photo.

Are you shooting nitrocellulose (or something else) on your instruments, then you need a spray booth! Spray booths serve multiple functions in the spraying process and are vital to getting a clean finish. A booth not only keep bugs and dust from settling in your fresh finish, it also keeps spray particles from adhering to everything in your shop while also creating a more controlled environment inside a workshop that might be too humid to spray in (in winter for instance).
