Elegant Guarneri Violin Chinrest in Boxwood by Figaro Importers

The Guarneri model is the most commonly used chinrest in the world. We have given the design a slight tweak so that it is even more comfortable and acoustically advantageous than ever. The outside is more rounded than the standard model and the right foot profile has been reduced to eliminate excess weight and contact with the top of the instrument. This medium height center mounted chinrest is 25 mm at the highest point. The arch underneath the chinrest has been carefully designed to clear peaked tailpieces, avoiding buzzes.

Figaro fine fittings are made only from the best sourced materials and finished by hand by craftsmen in a family owned business. The Boxwood (Buxus sempervirens) is harvested in the foothills of the Himalayas. It is originally off-white and air aged to assure stability. After sectioning into quarter-sawn boards, it is carved and then stained a tasteful orange-brown . The cork (Quercus suber) is the finest quality, fitted precisely to minimize acoustic interference and to maximize stability. The chrome fittings are all individually fitted by hand and are straight and thread easily. There are no chinrests available that are superior!
